Dear Schools Out! Party Person,

As you may recall, we had a School’s Out party last year on June 16. Robert Colby-Witanek arranged the Alice Cooper song “School’s Out” for strings, horn, saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, and trombone.  (We can add additional parts if you play other instruments.  )   We played at Mill Pond Park and we had a turnout of about 100 people. Tejas, Jason, Kevin, Abhinav, Arnav, Andy, Barbie, Becca, Kai and Robert Colby-Witanek had a meeting (organized by Robert) at Friendly’s to discuss having another School’s Out party. We all agreed that we should do another School’s Out party.

We want you to be part of this event, the second annual Schools Out! party – either as a performer or a participant in the festivities.

These are some of the things we talked about at the meeting:

We thought we should make the song longer. We discussed ideas of expanding the song, including another verse (“Troops Out This Summer”), a hip-hop section, a jazz section, dance and some comedy could be a part of this. We agreed with having a T-shirt design. We decided to call our Schools Out music crew the School’s Out OntouRAWge.  The RAW Machine band will be performing, and possibly other bands and performances. Prospective performers need to directly contact Robert Colby-Witanek.  ( piano_playuh@Yahoo.com , aol im thepianoplayuh or 908-881-5275 )

We also discussed possibly having a $20 fee per participant so we can possibly hire a director to pull our sound together better.  (Those unable to afford are welcome! )

The sound last year was not that great. The electric instruments were drowning out some of the other instruments. To fix this problem, we thought someone should study sound, and we should mike up the non-electric instruments, and turn down the electrics, and maybe use acoustic guitar.

We discussed some locations of rehearsals. Some of the suggestions we came up with were Mary Jacob’s Library, Robert’s house and Luke’s house. The location of the actual event will be at a person’s house in Skillman, NJ, so we can avoid the problems we had with the town last year.  Party goers will need to RSVP with Robert or Luke to get details about the exact location.  Contact Robert at the contact info above and Luke at powerage@aol.com or aol im powerage .

It will take place on Saturday, June 14 starting at 1 pm.  The tentative rehearsal schedule follows.  You must RSVP to Robert or Luke to attend rehearsals and get the details about them.

Sincerely,

Robert Colby-Witanek, Luke Meisenbacher, Kai Okada, Barbie Brown, Becca Underberg-Davis, Tejas Nampalli, Jason Gan, Kevin Gan, Abhinav Chevula, Arnav Chevula, Andy Adamovics
